Offering Your Bounty
The fall is an ideal time to reflect on the Medicine Wheel and the cycle of life. We planted seeds of new aspects of ourselves in the spring and allowed them to develop and grow during the summer. Now is the time to reap the harvest or value of what we planted. It a time when our vision, ideas, and growth take form.
The fall is also a time of completion and mastery. Sometimes it is difficult to declare aspects of ourselves to be complete as it feels like they are still developing or not perfect. Or we bump up against limiting self beliefs such as I am not enough which prevents our aspects of self to be enough and feel complete.
In a session I did recently, I asked my client what would he do if he was having a dinner party and had more things to complete then he had time to do. He said without hesitating, "I would pull it together as best I could and then go with I got."
This is depicted best by the spirit guide of the west (and fall)- the grizzly bear. The bear presents its offering with strength. And without shame, guilt, doubt, or regret. The bear stands up and says, "This is what I got."
The celebration of the harvest party is the perfect example. You take the things you grew this cycle and offer it up to your people in a celebration. It is your offering back to creation for all that it invested in you this past year. It is your gift back to God.
A strong prayer to offer Spirit, God or the Universe might be, "You have invested so much in me by offering ideas, possibilities, doorways, and lessons. This is what I did with it. Now I offer it back to you and my people to make the whole stronger."
So what did you harvest this year? Are you willing to offer it back to creation with strength?
